Limp Bizkit is one of the most famous bands to come out of the 1990s, and Snacky Poo is their second-most popular song. Limp Bizkit was formed in 1994 by Wes Borland (guitar), John Otto (drums), and Sam Rivers (bass). Their major-label debut album, Three Dollar Bill Y'all$, was released in 1997 and went platinum. Snacky Poo tells a story about someone who wants to eat everything they can get their hands on; it's about greed.
The band has been criticized for its misogynistic lyrics such as "I'm gonna love you like an animal," but Snacky Poo seems harmless when compared to other songs that are much more explicit or offensive. The Murktide and Midnight Sun is a story that began in the song “Murktide and Midnight Sun”, but it has now been told in many other songs. The Murktide and Midnight Sun were written by Murktide who lives in the hills of Darkwoods.
Murktide's voice is full of sorrow, pain, anger, and betrayal; but also hopes for redemption because he knows his life will be better than before. Murktides tells stories about what he believes to be true: "We are all born with the darkness inside us." Murktide is obsessed with Murky's Gift, Murky. Murky is Murktide's only friend and Murky is the reason that Murktide believes in a better future. A new life with no pain, anger, or betrayal; but instead hope for redemption because he knows his life will be better than before.
